LongTemple’s journey began on New York City’s Lower East Side, where she learned to observe people, listen closely, and recognize the stories hidden beneath everyday life. After spending much of her childhood in foster care and group homes, she entered adulthood carrying a deep understanding of survival, family, loneliness, faith, and the need to be seen.
Life brought marriage, motherhood, grandmotherhood, professional success, painful loss, divorce, and the challenge of rebuilding after fifty. Then cancer, chemotherapy, and radiation changed the way she understood time. Surviving that season gave her the courage to stop holding her stories inside and fully embrace the voice that had been waiting all along.
